Neurodivergence Therapy In Dallas

Does your brain work differently?
Are you neurodivergent?
Problem
Do you notice that your brain works differently compared to others? Have others ever said to you “I can’t figure you out?” or “You’re overreacting.”? Are you at a point in life where you need to focus, attune and concentrate in school, work or at home and your brain will not let you?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you might be neurodivergent.
Neurodivergence refers to the natural variations in how people think, learn, process information, and experience the world. Neurodivergent minds encompass individuals who are autistic, have ADHD, experience OCD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, sensory processing differences, Tourette’s, or other cognitive differences that diverge from neurotypical norms. These differences in learning, processing, and experiencing can be acquired or genetic, an innate biological part of you or not.
Sensory sensitivities, executive functioning difficulties, and struggles with traditional communication styles are often misunderstood or dismissed. In school, work, and healthcare settings, neurodivergent people may be labeled as lazy, disruptive, “difficult”, or not capable, when in fact, they are navigating environments that were never built with their needs in mind.
Late diagnosis or lack of access to affirming providers can further compound feelings of isolation, decrease self-esteem, and impact the ability to live life fully and authentically. Many neurodivergent people also have experiences with trauma, especially if they grew up without the language or support to understand their differences. Therapy that is attuned to these unique challenges can be a fundamental source of healing.
Explanation:
You are capable of achieving great things!
Living in a neurotypical world can be exhausting. Many who are neurodivergent are expected to mask their natural behaviors, suppress their needs, and conform to social norms that do not align with how they experience the world. This can lead to burn out, feeling inauthentic in everyday life, and challenges with expressing the emotions that result.
Rather than seeing these differences as deficits or disorders to be “treated” or “fixed,” a neuro-affirming stance views differences as part of the natural spectrum of human experience. Neurodivergence is not inherently pathological, but many neurodivergent people do struggle with mental health concerns, especially in environments that are invalidating, inaccessible, or overwhelming.
Our practice supports neurodivergent individuals in understanding and embracing their identities, while also addressing co-occurring challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, relationship struggles and identity development. We recognize that the problem is rarely within the person, it’s often the systems around them.
Solution:
You can harness your unique power!
At Dallas Therapy Collective (DTC) we specialize in providing affirming, compassionate mental health care for neurodivergent individuals. We believe that every brain is unique and that diversity in how people think, feel, and process the world is not a flaw, but a great strength. Our mission is to support neurodivergent clients in navigating a world that often misunderstands or pathologizes their experience by offering therapy that recognizes, affirms, and celebrates difference.
Neurodivergent people often face systemic barriers to care, including misdiagnosis, stigma, and a lack of providers who truly understand their needs. Our practice seeks to change that. We are committed to offering accessible, relational, person-centered therapy rooted in neurodiversity-affirming principles, where every person is met with respect, curiosity, and warmth, not judgment.
We view neurodivergence as a kind of superpower, not because it’s always easy, but because it offers a unique way of experiencing and engaging with the world. Many neurodivergent individuals possess extraordinary strengths: deep focus, creativity, pattern recognition, intense curiosity, and creative problem-solving. These qualities can shine when nurtured and supported. At DTC we want to help you learn to work with your brain, rather than against it. This can aid you in building a more fulfilling life that honors your strengths, supports your needs, and aligns with your values. Our goal is to help you harness the full potential of your neurodivergence in a way that feels empowering, sustainable, and authentic.

You might be wondering...
Why Choose a Neurodivergent-Affirming Practice?
Many traditional mental health providers lack the training or awareness needed to work effectively with neurodivergent people. Misaligned therapy can feel frustrating, invalidating, or even harmful, especially when providers prioritize conformity to neurotypical norms over authenticity.
Choosing a neurodivergent-affirming therapist means choosing care that centers your lived experience. We don’t aim to change who you are, rather we aim to support you in understanding, accepting, and thriving as yourself.
Our practice is committed to ongoing education, community engagement, and reflective practice to ensure we are providing you with the quality evidence-based care you deserve. Some of us are even neurodivergent ourselves! All of us are here to support your growth with compassion, curiosity, and respect.
What’s the point of therapy? Will you try to make me “normal”?
We are proud to offer neurodiversity-affirming services that moves away from traditional pathology-based models. At our core, we believe in celebrating differences, not suppressing them. We reject approaches that aim to make people appear “more normal,” and instead work with you to build a life that feels meaningful, aligned, and authentic. We also offer to you our lived experiences as neurodivergent individuals. Many of our therapists have neurodivergent identities themselves, and/or have personal experiences with neurodivergent individuals in their lives.
Our services are:
- Strengths-based: We focus on your existing skills, insights, and passions, not just what’s “hard.”
- Trauma-informed: We recognize how trauma can uniquely impact neurodivergent bodies and minds.
- Person-centered: You are the expert on your experience. We follow your lead and tailor therapy to your needs.
- Culturally Humble: We honor the intersections of identity, including race, gender, sexuality, class, disability, and all otherwise marginalized identities. Our care is informed by a deep respect for lived experience, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Consent-focused: We prioritize autonomy, transparency, and collaboration at every stage of care.
- Flexible: We adapt our methods to suit your communication style, sensory needs, and processing pace.
This may look like offering alternative ways to engage (e.g., texting during sessions, taking movement breaks, or using visuals), validating stimming or fidgeting, reducing eye contact, supporting the need for seating or lighting differences, or supporting nonverbal expression.
What services do you offer for neurodivergent people?
We provide a range of services to meet the needs of neurodivergent individuals:
- Individual Therapy: One-on-one sessions for teens and adults exploring identity, navigating challenges, or seeking support.
- Psychoeducation: Tools, resources, and insights to help individuals or families understand neurodivergence and mental health.
- Advocacy Support: Help navigating IEPs, higher education and workplace accommodations, or medical systems.
- Formal Psychological Testing: Evidence based neuro-affirming psychological testing for adults conducted by doctoral level psychologists who are experts in the field of neurodivergence.
All services are grounded in the belief that neurodivergent people deserve care that affirms who they are, not who the world expects them to be.
Will I be a good fit for services?
We welcome neurodivergent clients across the lifespan (ages 13+) and across identity:
- Teens navigating school, friendships, or identity development.
- Adults who are late-diagnosed or self-identified.
- People exploring whether they may be neurodivergent without a formal diagnosis.
- LGBTQ+ neurodivergent individuals seeking intersectional support.
- Burned-out professionals or students feeling overwhelmed by masking and expectations.
- Parents, caregivers, or partners of neurodivergent individuals.
Our practice has unique expertise in the intersection of LGBTQ+ identities and neurodivergence. Research and lived experience consistently show a strong overlap between LGBTQ+ identities and neurodivergence. Many neurodivergent individuals also identify as queer, trans, nonbinary or gender-diverse, and vice versa. Both groups often navigate systems that pathologize difference, making affirming, intersectional care especially vital. At our practice, we understand this connection and create space to explore all parts of identity without judgment.
Whether you are newly exploring your neurodivergent identity or have long known yourself to be different, you are welcome here.
