Does this sound like you?
People praise you for having it all together, when inside you feel completely lost. You feel responsible for everyone and are the first to lend a hand, but asking for help when you need it feels impossible. You’ve had to figure everything out for yourself, and maybe you feel resentment when others can’t do the same. You find yourself focusing on others so much that you lose sight of your wants, needs, and goals. You might believe that you are “too much” and not deserving of care and attention.
You haven’t found a space where your identity feels valued. You struggle to feel like people “get you”, and you’re afraid the mask will slip. You might feel like you’re missing your village, a sense of community, and you wonder if you’ve been left behind. You spend so much time in your head that you know you’re self-aware, you just don’t know what happens next.
A voice inside you wants to make change, and wonders where to start. By trusting yourself to step in the door, you are already building skills to be successful in therapy and get closer to finding peace within yourself.
You’ve done your best with the tools you have. Your patterns of being have gotten you through the most difficult moments of your life. However, maybe you find that you want to try something different in a new and safer environment. Amidst these struggles or transitions, you’re taking the brave step of sharing your experiences and hoping for greater well-being.
Can Therapy Help?
Stories don’t end in the middle. There is always time to make discoveries about yourself and decide that it goes differently this time. Therapy can help offer new perspectives and tools to cope, while being grateful for the parts of you that helped you survive. The time we spend together gives you permission to focus solely on yourself and the safety to connect deeper.
While vulnerability can be scary, therapy allows for a non-judgmental space where you can feel attuned to, without having to perform for anyone. The therapeutic relationship is my priority, and allowing yourself to be seen can help you develop compassion for what’s under the surface, and give you the confidence to let others see you too.
How can I help?
My approach to therapy involves viewing you holistically, taking into account the different roles and identities you hold. Every part of you is welcome in session, including ones that have been hidden from others. Together, we’ll collaborate on how best to support you so that you feel empowered to take steps forward. Therapy with me is trauma-informed and relational, meaning you set the tone and pace of your sessions. You are always in the driver’s seat, and my role is to join you for the ride.
As a multicultural, multi-hyphenate myself, I know what it feels like to squeeze into a box, and I hope to give you permission to be messy and take up the space you deserve. I believe laughter is a necessary prescription, and I like to incorporate warmth and hopefulness, without the toxic positivity.
It takes courage to show up for yourself, and I would be honored to support you on your journey.
When I'm not at Work
I am a cozy girl at heart and spend most of my free time with friends, my partner, and our cat, Finn. I love reading, watching a show or movie, and cooking/baking. I’m originally from Austin, the live music capital of the world, so I try to see concerts and live performances whenever I can.
